Qualified applicants will be medical students or speech-language pathology graduate students in excellent academic standing, with an interest in voice research. The Zola Gold Scholar will work closely with Amanda Gillespie, PhD, CCC-SLP and Clark Rosen, MD, and will assist in voice center clinical research projects, which include but are not limited to, learning research methods and techniques, data collection and analysis, and participant management, potentially resulting in publication and presentation. The Scholar will also have the opportunity to observe all levels of clinical practice at the University of Pittsburgh Voice Center, such as diagnostic voice clinic, speaking and singing voice therapy, laryngeal electromyography, and in-office procedures. The Scholar will participate in weekly voice rounds and voice journal club.
The appointment begins June 5 and ends August 18, 2017. The awardee will receive a $5,000 scholarship, made possible by a generous contribution from the Zola Gold family memorial fund of the Eye & Ear Institute.
